(there are a lot of build guides out there I stumbled my way through my first playthrough without looking anything up, and discovered many synergies on my own, ironically) Rogue takes some getting used to, so I wouldn't recommend it on a first playthrough. If you're building a ranger/wayfarer, then Finesse is your main stat (secondary stat is either Wits or Con, because it helps to stay alive and Con definitely helps with that). You'll want to main focus in Warfare, and dropping 2 points into Geo doesn't hurt (so you can use skills like Mend and Fortify). ![]() If you're building a one or two handed fighter, Str is your main stat and Con is your secondary stat. Good combos are Geomancer/Pyro and Hydro/Aero (but be careful with Aero since some of the skills can shock your teammates). If you're building a mage, Int is your main stat (I typically go with a shield in the offhand instead of dual wands, and in that case, Con is your next stat so you can equip good shields). Don't spread yourself too thin with attribute points and abilities. Definitely have a full team the first time around (yourself and 3 others you can invite the Origin characters to join you in Fort Joy, though you might have to go looking for a couple of them). ![]() The game will auto-save seemingly randomly, but many times it's right before a combat scenario. Look at the level of the NPCs in an area before venturing down any strange paths the levels of the NPCs will tell you the general level of what you'll be fighting in that area. The marked barrels can explode into whatever substance the symbol on the top indicates (though, the ones marked with a fire symble drops oil). Try starting the game in Explorer mode it's very forgiving with mistakes and new players. ![]()
